Garpenbergs Slott

A treasure and a piece of cultural heritage

Garpenbergs Slott

The largest castle structure north of the Dalälven River here in Bergslagen and one of the few places in Sweden where you can still experience dinner, accom- modation and parties in a setting that echoes with a genuine sense of Swedish history. Completed in 1801, the castle was designed by Carl Christoffer Gjör- well and built by Salomon von Stock- enström and the Swedish East India Company (Svenska Ostindiska Kom- paniet). At Garpenbergs Slott, you will experience an atmosphere that retains a whiff of the ostentatious social life of 18th-century France. The castle boasts numerous beautiful rooms and par- lours. With space for 200 diners and 80 overnight guests, the castle is the ideal venue for gatherings large or small. The ballroom for conferences and beaut- iful wedding receptions, the old vault for private dinners and a number of small dining rooms. Hunting courses, hunting and other adventure activities are also hosted here. With outstanding Franco-Swedish cuisine based on local, seasonal ingredients, history goes hand in hand with sustainable and delicious dishes.
